Masterton is located approximately one and a half hours drive north-east of our capital city Wellington.

A short drive north brings you to the Mount Bruce Native Bird Reserve where many endangered species have been brought back from possible extinction.

With access to Tararua Forest Park from Mount Holdsworth picnic spot, nature lovers can enjoy weekends discovering our native habitat.

Castlepoint and Riversdale Beach (both with golf courses) have accommodation available for those who enjoy beach activity.

The Castlepoint Lighthouse is an attraction commanding magnificent views of the surrounding sea-scape and countryside.

Great fishing is to be found especially during the summer months when the annual Super Fish competition attracts fishermen from all over the country.
